ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. PEHS Band Senior Pictures - Seniors were given a bright orange information sheet for our senior power point presentation. I am also looking for 4 pictures from each of the seniors (1. baby/toddler 2. early elementary 3. awkward pre-teen/middle school 4. senior pic) for the presentation.
2. PEHS Band Senior Dinner – May 18 (6:30-9:00pm) – Bolingbrook Golf Club – cost is $25/person for family members (senior students are FREE). - see attached flyer
3. Heritage Festivals - May 5 – PEHS is host to the Chicago-area Heritage Festivals vocal performances. We will need student volunteers to help with the event (stage setup and group liaisons). Students receive $8 per hour worked into their trip accounts (maximum of 6 students per shift). We have three 4-hour shifts for Saturday, May 5 (7:00am-11:00am, 11:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-7:00pm). Signups are on the band locker room door – Please keep in mind that this is also the date of PROM. If you are attending Prom, you may either want to signup for the early time, or not sign up for this weekend.
4. BAND BOOSTERS - Thank you to those who attended our Recruitment Meeting. It was great to see so many new faces. On behalf of the band, we would like to thank our outgoing Booster Board (Ken Hibben/President, Patty Wirth/Vice President, and Karen Leach/Treasurer) for all they have done in support of the band program! Please welcome our new Booster Board for 2012-2013…

5. Band Booster Summer Camp Scholarships – The band boosters has twelve $100 scholarships available for students attending a summer music camp. The scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis by turning in your camp confirmation to Mr. Lesniak. The scholarships are available until May 11 or until all 12 scholarships have been given out.
6. Music & Arts Step-Up Sale - May 5 - If you are considering upgrading and purchasing a new instrument, Music & Arts would like to invite you to their Step-Up Instrument Sale. The event is at their Naperville location. More details can be received by calling the store at 630-577-0820. A representative will be at PEHS on Monday, April 30 with instruments for students to try in class.
7. Spring Band Concert Dress Rehearsal – May 7 (2:30-6:00) – This is in preparation for our upcoming Spring Band Concert.
8. Spring Band Concert – May 10 (6:30pm) – Free concert, Seniors (and their parents) honored, and great music. What more can you ask for!?
9. Graduation – May 19 (10:00am) – call time will be 8:30 am.
10. Memorial Day – May 28 (Time TBA) – Graduation Band will perform the Star Spangled Banner and Tribute To America at the Plainfield Memorial Day Ceremony at Settler’s Park in downtown Plainfield.
