Final Pancake and Mattress Reminder

Hi all,

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 25) the band boosters will be hosting our Annual Pancake Breakfast and Mattress Sale (Breakfast ‘n Bed Event)!  Pancake Breakfast is from 9:30am-1:00pm and the cost is $5.00 for all-you-can-eat pancakes.  Tickets can be purchased at the door.  We will also have our jazz groups performing throughout the morning.  In addition, our Mattress Sale will be setup in the main lobby from 9:30am-4:30pm.  More information (along with a coupon) can be found on the attached Mattress Coupon. Finally, we could still use a few more volunteers to help with the Pancake Breakfast.  If you are available, please CLICK HERE to sign up.  Thanks for your support!

*Dinner is provided and the student fee has been covered by the band

*Students will attend 1st period, then we will depart for PNHS after that

  1. 2017-18 PEHS BAND PLACEMENT AUDITIONS – Placement auditions for band for the 2017-18 school year will take place the week of March 6. To view and print audition packets, CLICK HERE.

 

  1. WIND ENSEMBLE NORTH CENTRAL COLLEGE PERFORMANCE – Wednesday, March 8, 2017 – The PEHS Wind Ensemble will be sharing a concert with the Westmont HS Band and the East Aurora Wind Ensemble. The performance will be held at Wentz Concert Hall on the campus of North Central College in Naperville.  Please join us for this FREE concert, which starts at 7:00pmPermission Slip Attached.

 

  1. MARCHING BAND UPDATE – Per district direction, all high school band students are required to participate in marching band. With that, all PEHS band students will be a part of the marching band this fall. We thank you for your support and flexibility as we work to give all PEHS band students the best opportunity possible.   1. 2017-18 MUSIC DEPARTMENT TRIP – After reviewing several itineraries and their costs, we are in the process of securing information and PSD202 School Board approval for a music department trip to Walt Disney World in Florida from March 24-29, 2018 (Spring Break week). The trip would include a band performance at Walt Disney World. Estimated cost will be between $1250-$1450. As more information becomes available, we will put our packet together and share the information with our students and families.

The PEHS Band Placement Audition Info has been posted on the PEHS Band Website.  You can also CLICK HERE for a direct link.  Please note the audition dates and directions on the cover sheet.  We are asking students to print their own copies of the audition packet rather than distributing them at school.  This audition is for placement within the PEHS Band Program.  As students sign up for classes, high school student sign up for their current band and 8th graders should sign up for Concert Band.  Band placement will be posted and adjusted around spring break.

2017 Marching Bengal Information

Good morning Bengal family,

Now that the information about marching band has been released, we have been able to put together a calendar of events for the 2017 season.  This calendar includes student leader training, audition dates, summer band Information, fall rehearsals, and fall performances.  Please add to your schedule the parent/guardian meeting on Thursday, June 1st at 6:30 for additional information.  Questions, please let me know.
