Important Back-to-School Info

Hi all,

I hope you had a great and relaxing summer and are ready to get back to school!! Below I have some updates from questions I’ve received over the past few days, along with some additional information. Hopefully this email will answer a lot of those questions and prepare you for the upcoming days regarding band.

1. CHANGE OF PLANS FOR THIS FRIDAY – Orange & Green Night is this Friday, which is an opportunity to introduce the fall sports teams at PEHS while watching the football team scrimmage. The program does NOT include pregame, but DOES include halftime. For this reason, we are going to only require this Friday’s performance for those in the COMPETITIVE MARCHING BAND. Students in curricular marching band only are excused from this Friday night’s events.  Competitive Marching Band students will have a 6:00 call time (no tailgate after school), wearing their marching band t-shirts (which will be given out this week in class) and band baseball hat.

2. FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – Students can bring their instruments to the band room at the beginning of the day. All students who have not yet received a band locker will be assigned one during their band class.

3. MARCHNG BAND UNIFORMS – Many of you have asked about the curricular marching band uniform (black band baseball hat and orange polo shirt).  These items are purchased through the band, along with a marching band raincoat and concert band uniform cleaning fee (CLICK HERE and view page 8 of the marching band packet we handed out last spring).  These items will be passed out during class over the next two weeks.  If you have not yet paid for these items, they will be billed to your child’s CHARMS account.  Please see the previous BAND UPDATES email to see how to access your CHARMS account.

4. FOOTBALL GAME VOLUNTEERS & DRINK DONATIONS – We are asking for your assistance with drink donations for our Friday tailgates, along with help moving equipment to and from the field for football games.  Please CLICK HERE to view and sign up for our volunteering needs.

Thanks, and we are looking forward to a tremendous school year!

David
