2017 PEHS Marching Band Information

Good morning,

As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to send out information about marching band for this summer.

Review of current policy regarding other school sponsored activities: If you are going to be in any school sponsor activity that may conflict with marching band rehearsals (see below) please let me know.  Our current policy is that a student, in a school sponsored activity, may be excused for UP to ½ of the rehearsal time during the week. Example (they come to either Monday or Wednesday rehearsal or come to us from 4:30-6pm
both days).

New policy for next season: Depending on the activity, and conversation between director and parent/student, you will either march your own spot all season or you will be doubled with another student.  If doubled, you will still be responsible for all the work (and attending all performances), doubling just gives you some flexibility to attend those other school sponsored activities.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity:  During the summer our uniform team works diligently fitting the students.  If you could spare some time, please considering signing up to help the team.  Signup can be found at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f084ea9ac28a0fc1-uniform

Attn: 2018 Music Dept Disney Trip

Good morning all,

Thank you to those that have already registered for the PEHS 2018 Music Dept Disney Trip.  May 1st was the primary deadline to start the process of getting the best price for tickets and securing events.  The more people we have earlier, the better rates we can secure.  If you are still interested in joining us, you can still do so till late fall but please keep in mind two things.  1) The longer you wait to sign up, the less likely the entire group will have a chance to get lower prices for events (thus a higher price for everyone).  2) That when you do signup, you will be charge the balance of what is owed up to that point, at that time. Example – wait till November to signup and you will owe all previous payments at that time (May, Sept, Oct, Nov).

With that in mind, as of today, I have 104 trip consent forms.  Of those, 49 have not signed up for IPS.  Please do so through our trip website (link below). We are also still looking for chaperones. We currently have 5 generous guardians accompanying the group but to make this both safe and less stressful, we are looking for 4 to 5 more regardless of what year your student is.

All the necessary information we have thus far can be found on the trip website – https://pehsband.wordpress.com/disney-trip/

Thank you all.

Mr. Koszarek
